Kids can't fight childhood cancer alone...

Kids can't fight childhood cancer alone. That’s why, Henderson local, Clay Bush is willing to cut off his curly locks and shave his head for the love of kids just like him.

This year, 175,000 kids will be diagnosed with cancer. Worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes. Before they turn age 20, about 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will have cancer. More kids lose their lives to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease—in fact, that’s more than many other childhood diseases combined. Can you imagine losing your child to cancer?

The Bush Family believes all children with cancer should be able to live long, healthy lives. Because kids with cancer will often lose their hair during treatment, Michelle and Dave have spoken with 2 year old Clay about shaving his head to support the kids. (By the way, Clay doesn’t have cancer.) Clay knows that shaving his head voluntarily will help St. Baldrick’s Foundation to raise needed money to support the kids suffering from cancer and that will help fund lifesaving research to help every child diagnosed with cancer. Clay hopes that shaving his head will inspire friends, co-workers and family to donate money to support childhood cancer research. Can he count on you?

About Cancer and The St. Baldrick’s Foundation: In the 1950s, almost all kids diagnosed with cancer died. Just 60+ years later, because of research, today about 90% of kids with the most common type of cancer will live. But for many other types of childhood cancers, progress has been limited, and for some kids there is still little hope for a cure. The money raised helps fund the world’s best research to help these kids. St. Baldrick’s donors and volunteers have enabled the foundation to fund over $154 million in grants, allowing the foundation to fund more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except for the U.S. government. That’s pretty awesome.

There are over a dozen types of childhood cancers, and countless subtypes, making it more challenging for researchers to find cures for every child who has cancer. That’s where St. Baldrick’s comes in and uses the funds to take great care with every donor dollar, keeping the staff small, the expenses low and directing every possible dollar to childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick’s cares about the money raised and every grant goes through a rigorous scientific review process, ensuring every dollar has the greatest possible impact for children with cancer.  You can even take a careful look at the expenses and see for yourself Here!  Keep in mind, childhood cancer is different than many adult cancers, and can be diagnosed early. Even when kids get the same cancers that adults get, like lymphoma, they must be treated differently. In approximately 80% of kids, cancer has already spread to other areas of the body by the time it is diagnosed, that’s what the research is so important. Different from adult cancers, childhood cancers are not related to lifestyle factors and little can be done to prevent them. Some types of cancer almost never strike after the age of 5 while others occur most often in teenagers. Children are not simply smaller adults! Different research is necessary and funding is critical. Do we have your attention? Bald heads help raise awareness and support the cause for a cure. Will you donate?

About Head Shaving: Raising critical funds for childhood cancer research, the head-shaving events began as a challenge between businessmen and have grown from one event in 2000 to over 1,300 events in 2013, (the number of shave events from last year alone have more than doubled from 640 to 1,325.) Shave events take place in pubs, restaurants, schools, churches, parks, malls, military bases, firehouses and any other locations. The numbers of bald heads are increasing! With an expected 6,589 total Shavees already committed this year it’s a long way to go to 57,912 that shaved last year.  This year the foundation has 4,978 male Shavees committed vs last year when they had 48,599 Male Shavees. Women shave their heads too! So far this year we expect to see 1,611 women shave their head and had 9,313 women shave their heads in 2014. In 2015, so far $1,126,973.00 has been raised but we have a long way to go to reach and surpass last year $38,916,195.00 that was been raised, because unfortunately this number will not save all of the kids who will be diagnosed this year. Donate Now and Help Clay Bush, of Team Bald By Design hit his goal of raising $1,000 to St. Baldrick’s Childhood Cancer Research Foundation.

Join us as the shave event here is Las Vegas on March 7th, 2015 at Mc Mullan's Irish Pub  4650 West Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, NV US.

Three minutes from now, a child will be diagnosed with cancer, and another family will be faced with the very real possibility of losing their child. Will you help? Donate now.
This could be your child. Will you help by donating now?
